Job Description Lighthouse Lab Services is thrilled to be partnering with a up-and-coming lab in Boca Raton, Florida. We are seeking apart-time, contract Associate Laboratory Director to provide scientific oversight, regulatory compliance, and operational leadership for our high-complexity clinical chemistry laboratory. This is a key leadership position reporting to the Laboratory Director, with responsibility for ensuring the quality, accuracy and regulatory conformity of high-complexity chemistry testing. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical and scientific oversight of high-complexity clinical chemistry testing to ensure accuracy, precision, reliability and timeliness of results. Ensure the laboratory’s compliance with applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments [CLIA] for high complexity testing, state licensure, certification). Collaborate with the Laboratory Director to develop, implement and monitor quality assurance/quality control programs, proficiency testing, method verification/validation and instrumentation performance. Provide guidance to technical staff, chemists, technologists and supervisors on best practices, troubleshooting, and ensuring adherence to SOPs. Participate in reviewing and approving test methods, new test introductions, instrument installations and method changes. Assist with laboratory accreditation and inspection readiness, responding to regulatory surveys and audits. Attend weekly on-site meetings/work sessions, initially one full day per week; then transition to hybrid schedule. Support preparation and review of monthly/quarterly reports for laboratory performance metrics, turnaround time, error/complaint tracking and improvement initiatives. Ensure the laboratory maintains appropriate documentation, instrument logs, maintenance records, calibration records, reagent tracking and record-keeping per regulatory standards. Work closely with the Laboratory Director and senior leadership to align laboratory operations with institutional goals, budgetary constraints and business objectives. Required Qualifications: Hold a valid New York (NYCQ) in Clinical Chemistry. Demonstrated experience in a high-complexity clinical chemistry laboratory environment, including supervising or directing testing, preferably within a CLIA high-complexity setting. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for high complexity laboratories Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with technical, scientific and administrative teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience with quality assurance, method validation/verification, instrumentation and test troubleshooting.
