Job Description:
A national, AmLaw 100 law firm seeks a Strategic Business
Consultant. The Strategic Business Consultant is responsible for
assisting with the design and execution of projects, generally at
the "firm" level for projects not otherwise under the direct
responsibility of a Firm or Department leader. The position is
available for candidates located in Columbia, Charlotte, Atlanta or
Greenville.
- Collaborate with relevant Firm contacts for input on the
initial scope and design
- Prepare and manage project plans for implementation and ongoing
execution
- Prepare economic analysis of the revenue and/or expense
implications, including both hard costs and soft costs
- Research trends and best practices in the general business
environment, legal profession and peer law firms
- Prepare dashboards with key performance indicators and trend
analyses
- Maintain overall enterprise project list
- Assist with preparation of annual Department goals
- Prepare annual budget requests for costs related to projects
planned for the next year
- Prepare data analysis
- Engage with peers at other comparable law firms for hot topics,
trends, roles and resources, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Monitoring of business trends
- Prepare status meetings and lead status meetings
- MBA preferred.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in strategic planning, consulting or
project management
- Organized with project management skills and detailed tactical
execution of projects and initiatives
- A balance of creativity/innovation with process/project
management
- Collaborative and works well with others while also a
self-starter and independent worker
- Ability to exercise management judgment to make decisions
focused on the overall objective and the "why" behind the
initiative
- Business acumen to design and execute projects to achieve the
business objectives and engage other Firm leaders in business
discussions
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must be task-oriented
- Must be Proficient in the four Microsoft Office applications
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
