Florida Vision Institute is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art, individually based, high quality, eye health care. Our services cover a range of eye problems, including cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, dry eye, and ocular injuries. We have the common goal of ascertaining the most appropriate care for any given patient, explaining the purpose of the treatment, and in initiating said therapy in a courteous and compassionate manner, irrespective of age, gender, nationality, and race or payment program. The Ophthalmic Technician is a vital part of the clinical team and requires the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with a diverse patient base. They are responsible for comforting patients while performing necessary diagnostic tests and measurements that instills patient confidence in their treatment. Requirements: Obtain ocular and systemic medical histories to include chief complaint, history of present illness, past history, family history and allergy and medication history Perform accurate and consistent documentation and measurements. Have the ability to measure and record the following measurement tests (and other tests as required): A-scans, visual fields, fundus photos, OCTs, manual and auto refractions, fields, topography, brightness acuity test, tonopen, applanation, pachymetry Maintain optical and surgical equipment Assist in minor office procedures, including the sterilization of instruments Ensure the exam lanes are clean and stocked with appropriate supplies Help answer any questions that other team members may have Ensure the patient lobby and clinical working area is neat and clean Must be able to type or write legibly in a dimly-lit setting Qualifications: Possess at least one year of experience in a clinical setting.
