Job Description:

Purpose:

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the day to day administration (issue resolution, patching/updating) and on-going maintenance of the security tools that protect 800+ enterprise servers and applications. They will be involved with engineering and implementing complex projects. This role is a key position within the Infrastructure Operations department and will be called upon to resolve technical issues. The Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

• Collaborate with operations staff, vendors, development teams, and security teams to ensure secure and reliable operation of software and systems Operational Management
  • Provide technical services and support for the following areas:
  • Internal and cloud-based systems
  • Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, O365, Systems Center/Operations Manager
  • Virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft
  • Security team support in an operational capacity
  • Remote monitoring and management of system alerts and notifications
  • Work escalated support issues related to core business solutions.
  • Document standards, policies, procedures, and architectural documentation for all computer systems infrastructure
  • Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Review, implement, and enforce systems and integration security best practices for general compute, PCI, SOX, and other regulatory requirements. Inclusive of patch management, access and authorization, identity management, systems hardening, and micro segmentation.
  • Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records (runbooks, integration and communications diagrams, standards, procedures, etc.).
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
    
    Requirements:
    
    
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred. Ten years of relevant technical experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree.
    • 4 - 6 years proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products.
    • 4 - 6 years proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.
    • Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
    • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
    • 5 years OVM, vSphere, Citrix, SQL, and Terminal Services Linux and Microsoft operating systems
    • 1 years Microsoft centric cloud and on-premise technologies - Azure, Azure Active Directory, Office 365, etc.
    • 1 years Cloud platform configuration, management, and implementation
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
    • Microsoft Systems Center/Operations Manager Certification
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong analytical, innovative thinking, problem solving, issue resolution and documentation skills.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
