Description:JOB SUMMARYMachining Department Personnel will cut, mill and edgeband melamine and wood casework, countertops and specialty parts to specifications spelled out on the shop drawings.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Cut, mill and edgeband melamine and wood casework, countertops and specialty parts to specifications spelled out on the shop drawings.
• Use safety equipment provided in shop
• Report potentially unsafe conditions to the Production Manager
• Take responsibility for the equipment you are assigned to run by ensuring that cutters, bits or blades are sharp and cutting properly.
• Track your time on projects by filling out a daily time sheet and handing it in before you leave for the day
• Ensure that you are stacking and storing product safely and properly
• Track your material usage using the appropriate paperwork
• Ensure that your work area is kept clean and organized at all timesSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    • General aptitude for woodworking
    • General computer skills
    • Two years experience with woodworking equipment
    • Ability to read shop drawings and tape measure
    • Strong ability to communicate
