Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Research Compliance Specialist, Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities Include:

+ Central Research Integrity unit operations: Coordinates the office and assists each compliance area with development of internal office procedures to streamline and increase efficiencies of unit practices. Provides technical support and assistance within RI unit. Facilitates logistics and working relationships within and between DoR units. Assists Assistant Vice President for Research Integrity with special projects related to Research Integrity role and responsibilities. Monitors central unit email accounts, distributing to responsible areas for follow up or response to inquiries.

+ Backup to Novelution processes and assists with monitoring and coordinating the follow-up of appropriate RI personnel member/group.

+ Financial and administrative support: Assists with all office administrative responsibilities. Processes and facilitates administrative operations of the day-to-day functions within the RI unit, including coordination of general office responsibilities. Duties include: serves as Workday's (FAU's internal operations electronic platform) point of contact for transactions such as travel and conference arrangements, p-Card approvals, purchase requests and reconciliation, work orders, office orders, catering orders and coordination, maintaining inventory of meetings and office supplies, arranging telecommunications, expense reimbursements, answering or directing inquiries from RI's generic e-mail and phone line for the unit.

+ IACUC support function: assists with coordination of the day-to-day function of the IACUC including office management of committee's function. Acts as intake point for processing of new protocol/amendment submissions; monitor, log and organize protocol submissions/amendments as well as keep documents well-organized electronically. Assists with administrative review of personnel required training and maintaining of appropriate documentation. IACUC coordination including, but not limited to, preparing and distributing meeting agendas, minutes and documents for committee review; coordinate scheduling of monthly IACUC pre-meetings and regular meetings; ensure quorum will be present; make any necessary meeting arrangements; attend IACUC meetings; assist IACUC / RI personnel with development of IACUC office functions such as SOPs, office procedural manuals. Assist with IACUC office coordination as needed.

+ Training: Coordinates and/ or supports IRB, IACUC, Comparative Medicine, and other related RI training initiatives across FAU campuses. Coordinates instructor teaching schedules, develops and manages attendee registration forms; serves as point of contact for training questions and accommodations including confirmation receipts and reminder notices, develops and updates website training calendars, A/V requests, room reservations and coordinates with other campuses, manages distribution lists, attendance sheets and marketing materials, arranges catering, records attendance metrics, distributes follow-up training materials, reviews evaluation forms and summarizes responses to instructors as applicable.

+ Provides support to all compliance committees facilitated by RI [IACUC, FCOI, IBC, SBER IRB, and Health Sciences IRB.] Drafts, distributes and secures official appointment letters for committee members to assist with management of committee membership. Coordinates letter routing and signatures with the Office of the VPR. Tracks committee member CITI training completion report and appointment term renewals. Maintains record of these documents as well as CDA's, Member Rosters, Member Contact Information. Maintains membership records library to assist with management of committee membership.

+ May include other responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization preferred.


$45,000 - $55,000 per year
