Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include teaching introductory
undergraduate courses. The college offers a variety of
undergraduate majors and minors in the areas of communication and
media arts, including a new and a growing B.F.A. program in Film
Production. The college is also host to a variety of graduate
programs leading to M.S. and M.F.A. degrees.
- Serve as undergraduate and graduate faculty in the College of
Communication and Design, teaching an eight-course load per
academic year (twenty-four academic credits).
- Depending on the successful candidate's area of expertise,
courses may include: Film Production, Documentary Production,
Advanced Film and Video Production, Film and Video Editing,
Videography, Film and Video Practicum and Digital
- This faculty member is expected to work with colleagues in the
college's digital media and Multimedia Journalism majors to
identify and capitalize on opportunities for collaboration.
- Advise and mentor students in the major and provide academic
and professional advice to students.
- Perform traditional faculty duties in the areas of teaching,
scholarship and service to the profession and institution.
