The UM Boca Raton Multi-specialty Clinic has an exciting opportunity for a full time Certified Medical Assistant. This position is responsible for assisting and support our various physicians with day-to-day clinical activities at UHealth Boca Raton multi-specialist practice. Responsibility includes, but not limited to: Assisting physicians with the entire visit cycle including phlebotomy, EKG, scheduling imaging/ tests, assisting with procedures, surgery scheduling, prescription refills, and patient calls.

  • Set up the exam rooms prior to patients arrival, Upon arrival, greet and escort patients to exam room.

  • Take vital signs, short history, chart prep and record accurate data in UCHART while protecting patient privacy.

  • Communicate clinic delays to patients on a continuous basis to ensure optimal patient flow.

  • Prepare and clean examination rooms after each patient.

  • Maintain adequate medical supplies and equipment for clinic.

  • Stock assigned exam rooms at the end of the day.

  • Prepare and update formularies for MDs in each exam room.

  • Prepare and maintain inventory of clinical supplies. Sterilize instruments at the end of each day.

  • Perform phlebotomy and assist with other specimen collections.

  • Prepare specimens and requisitions as ordered by the physician.

  • Obtain authorizations with insurance campanies regarding formularies and medication orders.

  • Maintain optimal patient flow. Communicate clinic delays to patients on a continuous basis. Update schedules on a continuous basis (i.e., patients cancellations, no shows, add-ons, and/or late arrival).

  • Answer the telephone in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager.


  • High school diploma or equivalent education

  • Certified as a Medical Assistant by the AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) is required

  • HIV and CPR

  • One year of experience is preferred
