This position in the HSE Department is responsible for managing
third parties providing medical services to the company such as
occupational medical clinics and third parties performing medical
surveillance, managing medical cases, and developing new processes
and streamline existing processes to support the business
initiatives and goals of the organization. Provide direction and
oversight to staff and vendors to limit risk associated with
employment-based issues arising from medical case management
including medical treatment of employment-based injuries and all

+ Oversees and manages company relationship with occupational
medicine providers and Medical Review Officers.
+ Works with field supervision to arrange transportation to
healthcare provider as needed.
+ Communicates with employee and healthcare provider regarding
treatment, diagnosis, follow-up, prognosis, and return to duty.
+ Contacts medical treatment facility to provide information on
employee injury status, job description and physical requirements,
restricted duty program and other required information for
assessed/transported employee; assures treatment facility considers
equivalent medical treatment options for (a) prescription drugs
where an over-the counter equivalent exists and (b) a butterfly
bandage as an equivalent option for stitches; discusses treatment
plan with employee to assure he/she understands the
+ Ensures applicable post incident drug and alcohol testing is
conducted per policy.
+ Works with business line and HR regarding modified duty if
+ Provides existing case status report to the Workers'
Compensation Claims Adjuster and Aptim customers including
Operations, Medical, HSE and HR.
+ Assists with OSHA injury/illness classifications.
+ Ensures "Fitness-for-Duty"/Return to Work evaluations are
completed prior to an employee being medicallycleared by the case
management team, as appropriate,
+ Provides technical assistance to business line operations to
ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, customer and/or
company environmental, safety, and health regulations
+ Keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that
impact the organization
+ Develop standardized metrics and track performance toward
aggressive improvement objectives.
+ Build relationships at all levels across the organization,
partnering with Business Line while also providing competent
counsel to the division leadership team to support the company's
commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental excellence.
+ Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending
educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;
establishing personal networks; participating in professional
+ Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality
assurance budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances;
initiating corrective actions.
+ Responsible for medical invoicing and coordination between
medical vendors and APTIM finance and HSE.
+ Bachelor's degree with advanced degree or professional
certification(s) such as Certified Case Manager preferred.
+ Emergency Management Technician, LPN or RN strongly
+ Must have 7-10 years of relevant corporate HSE compliance
experience in construction, engineering or related industry in a
+ Must have 7+years of safety management experience in the
construction or related industry
+ Requires knowledge and compliance experience with regulatory
requirements such as OSHA, CalOSHA, DOT, SAMHSA, and including
company HSE policies and procedures
