Our work environment is a hub of cultures from across the nation and the world, making FAU a place where collaboration flourishes.Summary of Responsibilities:* Serves as a staff member for User Services within Enterprise Systems.* Receives incoming requests and problems from the Manager of User Services and researches to resolve or expedite the resolution of computer problems. The nature and functionality of the projects vary by individual and change over time as necessary to accomplish the University's academic mission. * Provides second and third tier support to FAU computer user community such as installing operating systems and application software on desktop systems, wireless configuration of student, staff and faculty laptops, pin-resets for Banner, account creation, password resets, assigning users to network shares, developing and maintaining documentation, designing, testing.* Performs some server operating systems and hardware support, as well as research, testing, and administration of server systems.* Troubleshoots software, network and hardware related issues.* Tests new procedures, and works with the Manager of User Services to make certain all installation, debugging, and trouble-shooting procedures used by the desktop support team are efficiently designed and capable of being executed by OIT or its representatives. * Maintains/enhances technical expertise level by keeping current with industry standards and technical trends, and advance skill-set by taking personal initiative.* Updates helpdesk tickets effectively and clearly.* Recommends technology solutions to departments as required by the supervisor.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.Solid technical writing skills necessary.Good written and verbal skills a must.Superior customer service skills essential.Knowledge of mobile devices such as iPhone, Android and Windows phones required. Experience with Windows and Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office suite required.Experience with Active Directory, SCCM, Canvas, Exchange, Office365, Workday, and/or Banner preferred.
