Attorney - Executive Litigation CounselDuties will include: -Acting as key member of the executive team in its business endeavors whether in acquisitions, marketing, operations, development, or investor relations. -Reviewing and drafting and modification of various types of vendor contracts and other transactional documents. -Developing best practices including legal templates, internal policies and standard operating procedures. -Handling residential evictions and litigating vendor disputes, andMaintaining strong community and government relations.As the Litigation Counsel, you will defend cases in South Florida. To be successful in this position, you need to be a self-starter, highly organized, focused, detail-oriented, and willing to travel for single-day trips and occasionally overnight. This role requires you to have technical proficiency and experience in commercial real estate and business disputes. Our legal department guides and protects the company-and serves our members-by making informed business and legal decisions based on current data and relevant information. -Responsibilities:The role will also need to handle with extreme competence all assigned litigation and other legal matters for the affiliated companies.Litigation work includes but is not limited to case analysis, preparation of motions, pleadings, discovery, conducting depositions, hearings, and, in the unlikely event, trials.The candidate must be able to competently present a controversy from inception through trial or appeal while maintaining the independent professional judgment required of a lawyer.The position involves a busy, fast-paced, real estate investment and management firm. Qualified candidates will be work in the company's Boca Raton headquarters.The Litigation Counsel must possess the requisite experience, skill, and judgment required to represent the interests of the company with little or no direct supervision. The individual will demonstrate expertise with a variety of legal concepts, practices, and procedures while relying upon his or her experience and judgment to plan and accomplish job responsibilities and goals. A wide degree of creativity and focus is expected with real estate exposure a plus.Required Qualifications:Licensed or eligible to practice law in Florida.Graduate from an accredited law school.7 or more years of litigation experience required.Able to timely handle full-time, high volume case load with little to no direct supervision.Prior in-house experience or real estate experience a plus. -Powered by JazzHR
