for. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for assisting with the
entire payroll process, ensuring pay is processed on time,
accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. The
successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of the payroll
function including preparation, balancing, internal control,
multistate payroll and payroll taxes. Discretion, confidentiality
and professionalism are essential in this
role.Responsibilities:Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll
processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of
payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, severances,
garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.Solving problems
concerning payroll, answering inquiries and enforcing payroll
policies.Provide process improvement, help optimize and automate,
be an agent of improvement to grow with the business.Collaborate
with our field team to communicate process, timelines, or assist
with their needs.Assist in training new managers on proper payroll
procedures, approving timesheets, PTO, doctor time off, etc.Perform
mass data uploads for merit increases, deductions, etc.Provide
support in all aspects of Payroll, including reporting.Subject
expert and HRIS expert for payroll system.Troubleshoot and resolve
all payroll related issues and work with Paycom to determine the
best solution to system limitations.Verifies with Human Resources
timely processing of payroll updates including new hires,
terminations, and changes to pay rates.Prepares and maintains
accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.Ensures
compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour
laws and best practices.Facilitates audits by providing records and
documentation to auditors.Identifies and recommends updates to
payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.Responsible
for setting up new states as needed.Heads the annual 401(k)
audit.This position works very closely with the HR team to ensure
employees' needs are met quickly and accurately.Performs other
duties as assigned.Requirements:Extensive knowledge of the payroll
function including preparation, balancing, internal control,
multistate payroll and payroll taxes.Excellent organizational
skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills.Maintaining a strong customer service and
can-do positive attitude is required.Proficient with Microsoft
Office Suite or related software.Proficient with payroll
software.Ability to be onsite in a hybrid capacity. Hiring
Preference will be given to local candidates, relocation assistance
is not available for this role.QualificationsBachelors degree in
Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related
field required.Three to five years of related payroll
experience.Intermediate computer skills: working knowledge of
Internet Explorer and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
