capabilities.Description:Under the direction of the Director, the
lead physicist will be responsible for a number of clinical,
technical, safety, and educational tasks, including: technical
evaluation and accurate delivery of radiation treatment plans,
accurate and safe calibration of radiation delivery, safety of
patients and staff, education and training of fellow staff members
and trainees. Specific tasks include, but not limited to, providing
continuing physics support to the Department, ensure equipment
calibration, treatment planning, timely quality assurance of
equipment and processes, providing guidance on equipment selection
and acceptance. In addition to responsibilities associated with a
Sr. Medical Physicist, the lead physicist will specifically work
with the Director to help implement and oversee the various
technical programs or workflow initiatives for the department. The
lead will not have primary supervisory responsibility over staff
but will provide first line support to the Director when
absent.Qualifications:Degrees: Masters Licenses & Certifications:
ABR Medical Physics Certification ABMP Medical Health Physics
Certification Therapeutic Radiological Physicist License Additional
Qualifications: Masters of Science required. PhD in
physics/engineering from an accredited college or university
preferred. Must maintain certification and continuing education
requirements as outlined by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP). Must maintain valid
license for medical physics as required. Required seven or more
years of experience in a large radiation physics program with
comprehensive services, including stereotactic radiotherapy,
brachytherapy and/or proton therapy. Interest in research and/or
educational training preferred.Radiotherapy Technologies at LCI: 4
Varian LINACS (including 3 TrueBeams), 1 CyberKnife M6, 1 Radixact
(TomoTherapy) with Synchrony and ClearRT, 1 ViewRay MRIdian
(MR-LINAC), 2 Flexitrons (HDR Brachytherapy), 3 CT simulators with
4D capabilities, 1 ImagingRing Catalysts (SGRT) for TrueBeams and
Radixact, and IBAs ProteusOne (Single Room) Proton Therapy to go
live in early 2026.Treatment Planning/Contouring Software at LCI:
Eclipse (for Varian machines); (Aria is used as a record and verify
system), Precision (for Radixact and CyberKnife), ViewRay (for
MRIdian), RayStation (for both proton and photon), Oncentra (for
HDR Brachytherapy), and Limbus (AI-based contouring).EOEby
