patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team based on national
standards, and utilizing the nursing process. Boca Raton Regional
Hospital has expanded our already robust Cardiac Program. We
recently built a NEW integrated lab (think Hybrid with built in EP
lab) and are looking for experienced Cath and EP Lab Registered
Nurses and Cardiovascular Technologists. Department Description:
Boca Raton Regional Hospital's Cardiac Catheterization Lab and
Electrophysiology Lab has two cardiac rooms, one EP room, a new
Hybrid room and 9 beds in holding. The labs have approximately
25-35 procedures per day including TAVR, structural heart and
complex ablations. RN Position Summary: The Registered Nurse
provides patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team based on
national standards, and utilizing the nursing process. RNs are
responsible and accountable for the delivery of skilled
professional patient care that is delivered based on recognized
national standards of practice, BRRH policy and procedures, the
Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for Nurses and applicable laws
and regulations. POSITION EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Be
competent in the appropriate use and functioning of equipment in
the area of clinical practice and department requirements.
Demonstrate proficiency in performing 12 lead EKG's. Facilitate
continuum of care transition. Further dialogue related to EMR
integration. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and teaching skills.
Have the ability to apply the nursing process in routine and
complex situations. Have basic mathematical skills. Create positive
relationships with physicians assuring consistent, accurate
information regarding their patients care. Serve as link between
patients and all care providers. Demonstrate the ability to
effectively guide patients, families and caregivers through the
health care system. Demonstrate the ability to identify and address
healthcare barriers to ensure the patient receives timely and
appropriate treatment for their health care needs. Expected to
demonstrate critical thinking skills and excellent judgment when
faced with unanticipated events and changing outcomes while
maintaining a positive and compassionate demeanor. Be proactive in
developing and enhancing processes with the goal of improving the
clinical experience for patients, their families and healthcare
providers. Demonstrate a passion and a comprehensive clinical based
understanding for health issues. Participate in the
department/hospital performance improvement program by conducting
and monitoring patient care activities, preparing and submitting
timely and accurate reports, proposing alternatives when problems
are identified, evaluating the plan of care and following through
on steps to problem resolution. Appropriately and within the Nurse
Practice Act and other regulating bodies delegate to and direct the
care provided to the patient by the LPN and Medical Assistant. Use
assessment skills to plan, monitor and evaluate patients and
document in a thorough, accurate & timely manner. Assist physician
in performing exams providing clinical excellence. Follow standard
precautions and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
Be responsible and accountable for the delivery of skilled
professional patient care that is delivered based on recognized
national standards of practice, BocaCare/BRRH policy and
procedures, the Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for Nurses and
applicable laws and regulations. Be accountable by attending
departmental meetings. Recognize the influence of beliefs and
cultures on behaviors and accept strengths and limitations in
others. Exhibit calm responsiveness to emergency or stressful
situations. Recognize situations which require notification of a
supervisor. Demonstrate leadership skills through appropriate
decision making, delegation and supervision of duties, and
functioning as a preceptor/resource to new staff, students and
LPN/Medical Assistant staff. Participate as part of a
multi-disciplinary team to provide patient care and to complete all
physician orders, administer medications, treatments, tests and
other patient needs in a timely manner and communicate effectively
with all members of the patient care team. Serve as a resource
person to patients, coworkers, physicians, and any other customer.
Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the
organization. Complete assignments with promptness and accuracy.
Meet deadlines for all tasks assigned. Prioritize work assignments
and complete tasks in a timely fashion. Be an active contributor in
all customer service initiatives. Be proactive in providing
hospitality to all BocaCare/BRRH's patients, families, visitors,
employees and physicians. Expected to serve as an ambassador for
BocaCare/BRRH.Qualifications Minimum Education and/or
Experience:Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience required. Current
Florida or compact multi-state license as a Registered Nurse. BLS
certification by the American Heart Association.ACLS certification
by the American Heart Association. IABP certification required for
Cath Lab. Must live within a 30 minute on call radius for Cath Lab.
