Description This position is responsible for facilitating proper charge capture for all services delivered by the respective department in accordance with standard billing policies and clinical documentation practice through the use of the hospitals electronic information systems, manual processes and review of the medical record. Identifies inconsistencies in medical reports and works with healthcare staff to improve charge capture and error correction. Follows compliant charge capture program and billing in accordance with Medicare, Medicaid, or Third Party payer guidelines. All functions of this role shall be performed within the guidelines of the department and hospital policies.Qualifications Degrees: High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper Licenses Certifications: AHIMA Certified Coding Associate AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist Registered Nurse AAPC Certified Professional Coder AAPC Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder Licensed Practical Nurse AAPC Certified Outpatient Coding Additional Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of Health Information Management AND One year of charge capture/outpatient coding experience, two years preferred. One of the following certifications must be obtained within 90 days of hire/transfer: RN (Registered Nurse), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification, or Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC), or Certified Coding Associate (CCA), or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), or Certified Coding Professional (CPC).
