Job Description:
Pay 109k - 163k Annual Salary, with 20%AIP bonus ADT Solar is
currently looking for a PV System Design Director who will be
responsible for the direct supervision, technical and personal
development, and deliverable oversight of a team of PV System
Designers of various skill levels. As the Director of Solar Design,
you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of solar energy
by leading our design team in creating cutting-edge solar
solutions. You will oversee the entire solar design process, from
concept development to project execution, ensuring the highest
level of quality, efficiency, and innovation. This role offers the
opportunity to lead and contribute to impactful projects that

individuals and teams, and a passion for delivering high quality
results. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and manage the
solar design team, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a
collaborative and innovative work environment. Oversee the
end-to-end design process for solar projects, including system
layout, equipment selection, energy modeling, and feasibility
studies. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including
engineering, project management, and sales to ensure seamless
project execution and delivery. Stay up to date with industry
trends, emerging technologies, and best prLead and manage the solar
design team, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a
collaborative and innovative work environment. Develop and maintain
design standards, guidelines, and quality assurance procedures to
ensure consistent and reliable design outputs. Review and approve
final design proposals and technical documentation before client
submission. Manage client relationships and act as a technical
point of contact during project development, addressing any
design-related inquiries or concerns. Work on concurrent projects
and meet deadlines. Oversee all Subcontractor Engineering Partners
on multiple concurrent projects from the RFQ stage to Project
Completion. Drive the Engineering Design, providing deliverable
tracking, VE Construction ideas, and developing Engineering
principles to drive project success. Budgeting and P&L
responsibilities for Engineering tasks. Tracking goals, tasks,
resources, schedules, costs, and contingencies. Liaise with
Construction Teams to provide real-time engineering changes. Always
demonstrate ethics and professionalism. Define metrics, create
targets, and hold team members accountable for achieving the plan.
Perform and track audits of design team. Mentor and motivate direct
reports to achieve goals and objectives. Delegate and escalate
appropriately. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in electrical
(preferred) or mechanical engineering. Master's degree preferred.
6+ years of experience in solar design, with a proven track record
of progressively increasing responsibility and leadership. 6+ years
experience creating engineered drawings with AutoCAD or similar
design software. Proficient knowledge in solar technologies with
the ability to adapt and learn new technologies. Strong
understanding of solar energy systems, photovoltaic technologies,
and industry-specific software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD,
etc.). Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the
ability to inspire and guide a diverse group of professionals.
NABCEP (PV Installation Professional) certification preferred.
Expert knowledge of the National Electric Code required Expert
knowledge of residential construction techniques preferred.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with
internal teams, clients, and stakeholders. Problem-solving mindset
with the ability to think creatively and strategically. Strong
project management skills to ensure timely and successful project
delivery. Fundamental working knowledge of NEC Codes. Strong
working knowledge of construction drawings and electrical line
drawings. Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and
permitting processes related to solar installations. Proficient
with MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Smartsheet,
SharePoint and Outlook. Ability to effectively communicate with
engineering, construction, and customer facing teams Strong desire
