Directing, supervising and evaluating the operations of the
Clinical Documentation Management Program (CDM) team for selective
facilities, ensuring the overall quality, completeness and system
success of clinical documentation. Coordinates activities with
medical staff and hospital departments to provide and maintain
optimal standards of clinical documentation. Maintain and fully
understand data collection and analysis for assigned hospital and
physician profiling. Ensures that the clinical documentation
program improves documentation in compliance with rules and
regulations of all local, state and federal agencies, and to the
standards of all accrediting bodies. The program supports the
hospital mission, vision and quality standards of care. The program
manager assists with the education of all members of the patient
care team on an ongoing basis for ICD-10 documentation specificity
in MS-DRG and APR-DRG. Will also have knowledge of and assist with
development of distribution of HCC diagnoses captured on the
in-patient record to targeted primary care providers.
Qualifications
Degrees: Bachelors Licenses Certifications: Educational Commission
for Foreign Medical Graduates Certification ACDIS Certified
Clinical Documentation Specialist Additional Qualifications: BSN
required, MBA preferred. Experience in in-patient hospital care,
physician practice and managed care experience, both commercial and
government programs. Administrative and leadership experience.
Knowledge of legal aspects of coding. Excellent aptitude for
communicating effectively with physicians and other clinical
professional staff. Experience with Medicare MS-DRG and Medicaid
APR-DRG assignments, utilization management, case management and
discharge planning. Experience using healthcare web based
applications (Milliman, Interqual, etc. ) preferred. Expertise in
use of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel programs. Minimum
