October 1, 2025 Introduction : In this Floater Position, the idea
is for staff member to cover vacation hours for Maintenance
Personnel and PSA personnel, therefore, we will train Staff member
to understands both facets of role. Position Description For:
Custodial Maintenance Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requires ability to use hand tools for repairs and knowledge of
cleaning equipment operation. Ability to: 1. Lift and move weights
between 25 – 50 pounds. Climb ladders. Work in cramped positions
while using repair tools. Read, understand, and follow owner’s
operations manual. Work a flexible schedule as demanded by business
needs. Traffic Controller Education: High School education or
equivalent. Require reading, writing, adding, subtracting and
following instructions. Operation of maintenance and cleaning
equipment. Experience: Minimum of 6 months’ experience. Judgement
and Decision-Making: Repetitive or routine duties involving clearly
defined standard practices. Some minor decisions and judgement
within established precedent. Referral to supervisor of
questionable decisions. Responsibility: Loss involving cash,
equipment, material, and/or process should be negligible, seldom
over $25.00 per incident. Responsible for your own work involving
simple equipment with moderate responsibility for the safety of
others. Probability of causing injury to self or others is
possible. Requires strict adherence to safety rules and policies.
Errors can be easily and quickly detected usually by the incumbent
and would result only in minor delays or clerical expense for
correction. Minimal contact with personnel outside immediate
workers and supervisors. Manual Skill and Dexterity: Skills and
dexterity required are comparatively easy to acquire. Works within
broad guidelines. The manual abilities required are within the
capabilities of the average individual following approximately two
weeks’ experience. Physical Effort: Moderate physical effort
required, consisting of: Occasional lifting or moving of average
weight materials (15 to 50 pounds) in difficult work positions
resulting in considerable fatigue, or Occasional lifting or moving
of heavyweight materials (over 50 pounds) or Rare lifting or moving
of heavyweight materials in difficult work positions, or in each
case expending equivalent effort pulling, pushing, carrying or
stretching. - Or - Continues mental or visual attention; usually
diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity.
Working Conditions : Somewhat unpleasant working conditions.
Exposure to any number of elements such as noise, dirt, heat, wind,
and rain. Position Description For: PSA Individuals in this
position are responsible for collecting used tickets, refilling
garages/lots of equipment with tickets, receipt paper, daily upkeep
and troubleshooting of equipment. Extensive knowledge of parking
equipment at all automated facilities. Possess ability to assist
customers at any of our facilities. Assuring good customer
relations in Miami Parking Authority managed parking facilities.
Additional responsibilities include the directing of traffic, trash
removal and general upkeep of facilities and covering brakes for
command center staff. Duties and Responsibilities: Do daily rounds
in all garages and lots, collect used tickets, refill equipment
with tickets, receipt paper, ink, etc. Replenished and closed shift
at Pay On Foot Stations in all facilities (changing of Pay
Stations). Testing and troubleshooting of equipment such as pay
stations, entry and exit verifiers. Fix and put back arm gates.
Assures us that the automatic parking equipment is operating in
harmony with overall operation of parking garage. Erects barricades
and parking places as necessary. Fill out daily reports of duties
performed to be sent electronically to supervisors. Daily closure
of assigned facilities. Perform Parking Attendants and Customer
Service Monitors duties when needed. You must keep all equipment
and work area clean. Policies/patrols parking garage and lot
grounds. Directs traffic and patrols assigned facilities to assure
safety of vehicles. Assists the public with directions and
information. Corrects and/or reports any hazardous conditions.
Comply with all safety standards, rules and regulations. Prepare
reports for supervisors. Performs any other duties that may be
assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have a
valid driver’s license to operate golf cars Must be fluent in
English and Spanish Provide excellent customer service. Provide
routine information in a clear manner. Keep simple records and make
reports. Establish and maintain effective working relationships
with other employees and the public. Lift and move weights of 25
pounds or less. Basic computer skills, and ability to work programs
used at command center. Judgment and Decision Making: Restricted
scope of duties. Some analysis of facts surrounding individual
problems. Referral to supervisor for involved or questionable
cases. Responsibility: Loss of cash equipment, materials and/or
process would seldom exceed $100.00 per incident. Inattention or
careless operation of equipment may cause lost time injury to self
or others in immediate area. Errors may involve losses such as cash
shortfalls, improper costs, overpayment, failure to take discounts,
waste of materials, damage or loss of equipment. Work is not
continually subject to verification or check, although errors
usually remain within the Agency. Regular contacts with peers,
supervisors and/or other departments, public and customers
requiring tact, to avoid friction and obtain cooperation. Physical
Effort: Light physical effort required consisting of occasional
moderate walking, lifting or moving of material and sometime works
in cramped positions while using repair tools.
