Overview

Arcadis IBI Group's Structural Engineering Department is looking for an Intermediate and Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing team. Our office is a full service Architectural and Engineering firm that services a wide variety of clients across the globe. Candidates should show a will to learn, be self-driven, and have a team mentality.

Most of the Things You'll Work on:

• As a member of a collaborative engineering and design team, you will work on a wide variety of technically challenging projects to support client recommendations and reviews. These projects may include creating calculations document designs, and specifications that exceed the quality expectations of clients
• You will perform structural analysis and detailed design of various structural systems based on the client/project needs (i.e. steel, concrete, wood, etc.)
• Manage/assign/perform the structural tasks needed for projects and work with Mid-level or Junior engineers to achieve efficiency and quality with your design in an on-time delivery as part of a high functioning team
• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to our Mid-level and Junior staff
• Assist in reviewing structural shop drawings for various types of structures
• Coordinate with other disciplines to assure well coordination of documents
• Work with a full-service design team on the design of buildings
• Interact with clients on a weekly basis to ensure their needs are being met within the aspects of our projects
• Assist in writing structural scope of work and providing estimated fees for new project proposals
• You will be part of an overall structural team that routinely meets to discuss projects and assignments as well as overall team quality improvements Qualifications
  
  You'll Need to Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 5 - 10 plus years relevant progressive experience required
  • Successful completion of the Principles of Engineering Exam (PE)
  • Licensure in at least one state
  • Practical application of structural engineering including analysis for structural supports, loads, and design integrity
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and Bluebeam
  • Proficiency with Risa 3D, Revit, and Newforma a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the application relevant Building Codes and design standards
  • Excellent work ethic and desire to succeed
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency combined with the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively within a team
  • Demonstrate an ability to work remotely with other teams Office description or working remotely:
    
    Arcadis IBI Group has utilized a remote environment that allows for all structural team members to have access to each other via teams and creating a similar digital office environment. We meet daily for small touch points for each team member to bring up items that they need to discuss as a group. We strive to create a "Digital Office" setting for our structural group.
    
    For those who prefer to work in an office environment our Southfield, MI office is located at 25200 Telegraph Rd, Suite 300.
